  • 07 Nov 2018 Israel – Strike

    Israel Postal Company, has advised that a general strike, affecting postal services, flights, transportation, government services, etc., has been called for Wednesday, 7 November 2018.

     

    This will result in delays in postal services in general, in particular EMS.

  • 07 Nov 2018 Belgium – Strike

    The designated operator of Belgium, bpost, has advised that owing to the rotating industrial action announced by the trade unions, taking place between 7 and 13 November 2018, postal service in Belgium is expected to be heavily disrupted during that period, impacting inbound and outbound operations as well as domestic deliveries

  • 01 Nov 2018 Canada – Update on strike

    Canada Post has updated that the Canadian Union of Postal Workers continues to hold rotating strikes in various locations across Canada while negotiations are ongoing with the help of a special mediator. Mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up in impacted areas. Canada Post is working to restore service and address postal backlogs once the disruption ends. Canada Post continues to operate across the rest of Canada and is accepting and delivering mail and parcels at all other locations.

  • 31 Oct 2018 Japan – Normal Operations

    Japan Post has updated that all postal services in areas affected by the earthquake and typhoon have returned to normal.

  • 30 Oct 2018 United States – Hurricanes

    The United States Postal Service (USPS) has updated that, with few exceptions, service has returned to normal in the areas affected by the hurricanes.

  • 29 Oct 2018 Indonesia – Normal Operations

    Pos Indonesia has updated that all postal services are back to normal, following the disruption caused by the earthquake and tsunami in the Central Sulawesi province of Indonesia.

    PT Pos Indonesia has further updated that all postal services on Lombok Island have returned to normal on 8 October 2018.

  • 24 Oct 2018 Costa Rica – End of Strike

     

    Correos de Costa Rica has advised that the strike of the public sector labour unions has ended and that postal services are back to normal.

  • 22 Oct 2018 Canada – Strike

    Canada Post has updated about ongoing negotiations with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).  CUPW has issued a strike notice, which means that they will be in a legal position to strike as early as 22 October 2018. Should rotating strike action occur, the postal service will continue to operate.   Rotating legal strikes may be isolated to one or two specific locations at a time, affecting those areas for a period of 24 hours. In that situation, Canada Post would continue to accept, process and deliver mail and parcels in all other areas. Once the temporary disruption ends, it would return to normal operations in the affected locations.  Hence, service delays may be expected in the affected locations.

  • 16 Oct 2018 United States – Hurricane Michael

    United States – Hurricane Michael

     

    The United States Postal Service (USPS) has advised that Hurricane Michael made landfall on 10 October 2018 in the Florida Panhandle, bringing destructive winds, dangerous storm surges and flash flooding. Operations have been disrupted in some areas.  USPS is continuing to monitor the storm as it moves inland, and its top priority is the safety of its customers and employees. Some post offices have suspended operations, mainly in the areas with postcodes ranging from 32300 to 32499.
